Anna Silk was the first child of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a writer, actor, director, producer and teacher in St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton. She is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending performances for her plays as a child and observing her mother at work. As a young kid, she made the rounds in various commercials. Anna was able to move to Toronto so that her acting skills could improve. The actress later relocated Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting training workshop held in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009.
